How Offering Bonuses Can Skyrocket Your Affiliate Commissions

Nowadays, I see many beginner affiliate marketers who promote products simply by just advertising their own affiliate links and these are the very same people who wonder and ask themselves why do they not get the same results that many veteran affiliate marketers say are making.

If you really want to earn the kind of income that could literally get you out of the rat race, you must stop doing what the other 5% of affiliate marketers who continue to fail are doing.

Now I can hear you say – what’s your point, Angelo?

Okay…

One way to always stand out from your competition is to offer a little bit extra, to do things a little bit better and just to plain old give more. People will appreciate it and it’s a great way to build a successful business.

As an affiliate marketer, it’s a good idea to differentiate yourself from your competition. A good way to do this is by offering bonuses or in some cases a discount for people that purchase through your affiliate link. This is a good strategy specially when dealing with high-end products, which are quite pricey to purchase.

For instance, a very well known Internet marketer launches his latest and most anticipated course on “How to Get Massive Traffic to Your Website through Blogging.” Being a well-known guru, this marketer already has a small army of affiliates lined up and waiting for launch date to simultaneously shoot out a series of emails to their list promoting this most anticipated product – ouch, how do you compete with that?

Well, here’s a little strategy that some very top super affiliates use – by offering them bonuses.

Instead of just posting your ad on Google Adwords linking to this new product’s website (like many wannabe affiliate marketers do), or sending a “buy this” email to your list (if you have one), take the time to set up a special promotion for customers who purchase the product through your link.  This can vary depending on the product and your services, but it can be a number of things such as a video where you teach your own strategies or tips you’ve learned from the course; or a recorded interview with the product owner.  You can even offer some one-on-one coaching sessions, although be careful with this one as it can get very time consuming, you may want to limit this to the first 5 or first 10 purchases made through your affiliate link.

You can also offer a discount to people who purchase through your link.  Say you’re promoting a high-ticket item which costs $950 and your commissions are 50%, it may be well worth it to give people who purchase through your link a $100 or $150 dollar discount.  This is a great incentive for people to buy through you. After all who doesn’t want to save money?

There are literally tons of things you can offer as a bonus. Sky is really the limit when it comes to this. Just always keep in mind that in whatever you offer, it must have value.

That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your homework first and if in doubt of what is appropriate, you can contact the product owner directly and ask questions.

Don’t you know that many buyers purchase through the link of a super affiliate just for the bonuses?

So always try to make the best possible offer you can give in your affiliate promotions. You will soon see yourself reaping the fruits of your labor.

Rememberthe more time and effort you put into promoting a product you believe in, the better your chances of making more sales.  People will see your efforts and think wow, he must really believe in this product to do all of this – and if you’re focusing on choosing and promoting the right products then this is probably very true.
